Nevelson, Louise Artists Art History
Sculptor, born in Kiev, Russia and immigrated to the United States with her parents in 1905. Best known for works that consist of open-faced wooden boxes stacked to make freestanding walls. Within the boxes (usually painted black) are carefully arranged collections of abstract-shaped objects.
