Original comic art is created in the process of developing a comic book or comic strip. Most comic book art (at least that used to produce four-color action/adventure comics) is often created in a multi-step process that consists primarily of a penciller and an inker, although a letterer contributes a great deal to how the original looks and a colorist of course contributes a great deal to how the printed page looks, natch. Writers matter too, of course, but with only rare exceptions are their efforts considered to be an important factor in the desirability of an original page.
