Borzage, Frank Directors Directing Filmmaking
Born April 23, 1893, Salt Lake City, Utah, and died June 19, 1962, Los Angeles, California. Frank Borzage worked as an actor, producer, and writer, but is best known and remembered as a motion-picture director noted for his romantic and artful style of filmmaking. He was a pioneer in the use of techniques, such as soft focus. Borzage was awarded the Academy Award for Best Director of a Dramatic Picture in 1927/28 and Best Director of a Motion Picture in 1932.
