Jones, Spike Bands and Artists Music
Musician and comedian, born Lindsay Armstrong Jones, 14 December 1911. Spike Jones is best remembered as the leader of the City Slickers during the 1940s and early 1950s and made a name for himself by parodying the classics and the popular songs of the time. After the rise of rock and roll music in the late fifties, Spike Jones's popularity waned. He died on 1 May, 1965.
