Staple Singers, The St Bands and Artists Music
Family gospel/soul group made up of Roebuck "Pops" Staples (vocals, guitar; born 28 Dec 1915, died 19 Dec 2000) and his children Cleotha Staples (vocals; born 11 April 1934), Mavis Staples (vocals; born 10 July 1939), Pervis Staples (vocals; born Nov 1935), and Yvonne Staples (vocals; born 23 Oct 1938). Note that the group's name is The Staple Singers, but that the family name is Staples with a final "s".
