Lachner, Franz Paul Composers Composition Music
German Romantic composer and conductor Franz Lachner (1803-1890) was a close friend of Schubert, perhaps drawing from him inspiration for song writing. He was capellmeister at Vienna's Karthnerther Theatre and then conductor of the Court Opera in Munich. He wrote a number of different works, including songs, choral pieces, orchestral works, and operas.
