Ravenscroft, Thomas Composers Composition Music
English composer Thomas Ravenscroft (c.1590 - c.1633) taught music at Christ's Hospital in 1618-22, and in 1621 published a collection of Psalms composed by himself and others entitled The whole Booke of Psalmes with the Hymnes Evangelicall and Songs Spirituall. He also collected popular songs of his day into three books, Pammelia, Deuteromalia, and Melismata, which have survived longer than any similar collections.
