Seeger, Ruth Crawford Composers Composition Music
(1901-1953) She was a key member of the 1920s avant garde and her String Quartet 1931 was widely accepted as a masterpiece of the time. She was a key figure in the revival of American folk music and pioneered the use of American folk songs in children's music education.
