Stamitz, Carl Philipp Composers Composition Music
German Classical period composer and violinist Carl Stamitz (1745-1801), son of Johann Stamitz and brother of Anton, received his early musical training from his father. He developed his violin technique at Mannheim, studying under the court musicians after Johann's early death. He later moved to Paris and spent several years composing and touring.
