This category houses both professional and fan pages devoted to the French poet, artist, actor, novelist, screen writer and avant-garde film maker Jean Cocteau. Born in Maisons-Lafitte, Yvelines, Île-de-France, France on 5 July 1889, he was a published poet by the age of 16, and wrote produced and directed 12 films in his own right, and several more in collaboration with other artists. His most notable cinematic works include "The Blood of a Poet" (1933), "Orpheus" (1949) and "Beauty and the Beast" (1946), which was awarded the Prix Louis Delluc. Jean Cocteau died on 11 October 1963, in Milly-la-Forêt, Essonne, Île-de-France, France.
