Tidal Bores Tides Oceanography The Earth
A high wave caused by tidal flow into a narrow opening or estuary. A tidal bore is a naturally occurring event that should not be confused with a tsunami. The bore is caused when an incoming tide rushes up a river. There are only 100 places around the world where this natural phenomenon occurs.
