Breeders Basset Hound Hound Group Breeds

Basset hounds are bred to improve the breed standard. Responsible breeders will place clear restrictions on any bassets they sell as pets. For example, a dog that is show quality may be bred only with the breeder's permission and involvement. A dog that is pet quality will have to be neutered. Also, responsible breeders will require adoptive families to return the pet if there is a problem, such as allergies. Responsible breeders will not sell their dogs to puppy mills, pet shops or other impersonal venues.
