Kannur Districts Kerala India
The district is named after the town of Kannur. Kannur’s days of glory were under the Kolathiri Rajas, and its importance as a spice trading port was mentioned by Marco Polo. From the 15th century various colonial powers exerted their influence, including the Portuguese, Dutch, and British.
