Several Vancouver neighbourhoods are popular among residents and tourists alike for their rich history, including Gastown, Chinatown, Little India, Little Italy, Kitsilano, the West End, and Kerrisdale. These neighbourhoods attract filmmakers in great numbers, and Vancouver is referred to as "Hollywood North".As Canada's most populous Pacific port city, Vancouver is Canada's "gateway to Asia". This is exemplified in Vancouver's people, about 28% of whom came to Canada from China. In total, nearly 45% of Vancouver's population are visible minorities, and contribute to making Vancouver a diverse, cosmopolitan city.
