The Town of Duanesburg was settled as early as 1736-1770, Duanesburg is the westernmost town in Schenectady County, consisting of 73.5 square miles as a predominantly agrarian town bounded on the north by Montgomery County, on the west and southwest by Schoharie County and on the south by Albany County. By 1907 became an important railway center, boasting the largest coaling station in the world located in the Village of Delanson.
