Located in western Oklahoma and created at statehood from portions of Roger Mills and Woodward counties, Ellis County was named for Albert H. Ellis, vice president of the Oklahoma Constitutional Convention. Land Area: 1,231 square miles with two major streams in a county of rolling hills and level plains
