Meta-HDLs Hardware Description Languages Design Electronics

Meta-HDLs are HDLs embedded in conventional programming languages. The advantage of a meta-language approach is the HDL can make full use of the features in the hosting language. Usually a framework is provided for design simulation, and possibly netlist generation.

• RHDL - RHDL (Ruby Hardware Description Language) is an HDL design based on hardware description languages the Ruby programming language.
• Perlilog - As the name implies, Perilog uses a mix design of Perl and Verilog to construct parametric hardware design designs.
• Hydra Computer HDL - Hydra is an HDL based on the functional design programming language hardware description languages Haskell.
• JHDL - JHDL is a method of describing (programmatically, in design JAVA) the hardware description languages components and connections in a digital design logic circuit.
• MyHDL - Python package for using Python as a hardware design description and verification language.
