Herrmann, Ed Players People Baseball
Ed Herrmann is a San Diego native who was a pitcher at Crawford High School. In 1964 he was drafted to be a catcher with the Milwaukee Braves. Herrmann's highlight year was 1970 when he hit 19 home runs for the White Sox for a .283 batting average and 52 RBIs. He was also elected to play in the 1974 All-Star Game. Herrmann participated in 1 no-hitter in 1967 for Joel Horlen and catching another in 1976 for Larry Dirker. His fans called him "SupHerrmann" and was called "Hoggy" and "Fort Herrmann" by his teammates.
