Western Athletic Conference NCAA Division I College and University Women
The Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball is growing strong. In the 2000 Women's NCAA Tournament, Rice and SMU both received bids. Hawaii also was invited to play in the Women's NIT. The conference will only grow stronger with the addition of Nevada in 2000-2001. In 2001-2002, the league will gain a perennial national power with the addition of the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters, who have won three national championships and participated n every NCAA Tournament. Boise State will join the league with the Lady Techsters.
